10 reasons why local elections are important
1. Because I have an opinion.
I don't just eat what they put on my table. Even when it comes to my city, I would like to have a say and contribute my opinion.
2. Because I want to change something - locally.
Think globally - act locally. If I want to change something in the world,
I have to start with local politics at home
3. Three, because my vote is a deciding vote.
Every vote counts because there's no five percent hurdle. Especially in the local elections, the results are often very close. That's why my vote is crucial.

Not voting doesn't help. If I want my interests and visions for Munich to take shape, I have to bring in my vote. So, I am involved in deciding how Munich will develop over the next six years.

In Germany, the citizens* determine what happens in politics. And I will not let this right be taken from me.

I want the people in Town Hall to represent my interests. That's why I am involved in deciding who goes to Town Hall. After all, they make decisions that directly affect my life.

You would like to make the rules yourself? In city politics everyone can get involved. And voting is my most direct way to seize that opportunity. Besides, there are other ways to take my concerns to Town Hall. For example, at Town Hall meetings, through public petitions or a referendum. In addition, all citizens are free to join a party or to stand for election as a city councillor or mayor. So, all that remains is the question: Join in on a daily basis or set the right course every six years?
